Red transferware challenge #9: roosters on red!

Hello diners! Welcome back its September and I am back on track...kind of. Next month, which was really this month is not Wedgewood Briar Rose, thats not even next month, its November, so few more weeks to see that one. For this month, September I bring you Roosters on Red - not to be confused with Trent on Stoke, which is a English town.

Originally, my red transferware challenge was with the four random dinner plates. My options really expanded when our sponsor Nowvi provided me with these four salad plates. This was a far better option than my original plan.

I paired them with contemporary Signature Sorrento in these autumn colors of blue and deep yellow, along with some additional red stemware.

I used these fun rooster napkins and paired the table linens with this vintage topper. I found the topper many years ago in an antique shop in Tennessee. To call it a shop was an understatement. It was four story warehouse filled with antiques.

When you walked into the warehouse, to the left was a shelving system that went to the ceiling, every shelf was filled with vintage linens. I only got through one shelf, but was thrilled with my find. Its faded over the years, left in the sun or from harsh chemicals, and I actually love the more muted colors and they were perfect with this setting.

Inspiration for this challenge: Westmoreland rooster cups - aren't those cute? Also a gift from Nowvi! Be sure to check out their Etsy shop - link in the sponsors section. Margaret always tells a story of the products she sells. I can't get over how cute these are-

I added in a variety of other roosters and stoneware for this table. Including this bowl from Universal Cambridge.

I had forgotten to grab a bouquet at the grocery store, so I ran out to the garden for some nasturtiums, which will be added to the salad for dinner. This leaf was the size of my hand!

Finally, these fun roosters glasses, were gifted to me from reader Dixie Benny. Dixie hosted a Dinner Chicks group, where for several years a group of us got together monthly for a dinner party. I do miss those dinners Dixie, but the glasses live on in blogs, or filled with wine. The red water goblets from Dr. Jane.

Thanks so much for popping in to take a look at the red transferware challenge #9. I really can't believe that its been nine months. For October it will be a gothic setting, Nov is Wedgewood Briar Rose, and Decembers challenge: red transferware with Scottie dogs. Hope to see you back and I am going to try to get back on track for two tables a month!

I continue to be grateful for friends who provide me with so much beauty to create amazing table settings, as well as our readers, thank you to each of you! Please share with others who may appreciate a beautiful table or vintage items.

Until next time, enjoy something beautiful, ~d
